HOW I STAY ENERGETIC WHEN I’M ON THE MOVE BY SHEILA MAJID
As an artist, I am constantly on the move – especially when I am on tour. My roster is usually packed with rehearsals, wardrobe fittings, stage preparations and more rehearsals. I am required to always be on top of my game and these are a few ways on how I do it.
1. BREAKFAST IS KING
They say you should eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince, and dinner like a beggar. It couldn’t be truer. Having a nutritious and hearty breakfast helps me stay energetic and productive. Nowadays, I make sure I drink a glass of Anlene every morning; it goes well with almost everything!
2. ON-THE-GO NUTRITIOUS SNACKS
There will be times when we feel a little tired. And when that happens, I tend to look for food that I can snack on. I used to snack on junk food a lot because it’s convenient, but I realised it doesn’t help increase my energy level. Fortunately, I found out there are healthier snacks! Some of my favourites are nuts, fruits and Anlene yoghurt cups. They fill my stomach and help keep my energy level in check. There are also a wide variety of healthy snacks to choose from, allowing me to indulge without feeling guilty.
3. JUMPSTART-YOUR-DAY WORKOUT
Getting out of bed in the morning is a challenge itself, much less getting up to exercise. But trust me, it’ll be worth it. Once you start working out in the morning, you’ll really feel the difference and your body will crave for more physical exercises. Working out in the morning and getting my adrenaline pumped helps me stay fresh and energised throughout the day, allowing me to focus better on my work.
4. STAY HYDRATED
Staying hydrated and drinking plenty of water is very important, because dehydration can leave you feeling tired and lethargic. When I have shoots outdoor, I make sure I stay hydrated and I always… always keep a bottle of water in my bag.
